Everything you need to experiment with bioimpedance spectroscopy and electrical impedance tomography (EIT). Spectra is a highly precise impedance measurement device, with temperature calibrated impedance measurements. The kit includes the pre-tested main PCB with firmware already loaded, a small 'phantom' tank with 32 electrode flexible electrode array, an electrode expansion adapter to easily connect your own electrodes, USB power and data cable, and a 4-channel gold-plated electrode cable for bioimpedance spectroscopy and time series impedance measurements.

Features & Specifications

  • Precise and highly configurable sensor hardware
    • Can be configured to use 8, 16 or 32 electrodes via the dashboard.
    • Sample rate: 160,000 sps.
    • Each impedance measure is made using differential referencing at 16-bit resolution.
    • Does temperature and onboard resistance calibration to ensure impedance measurement accuracy over the load.
    • In-built firmware modes: 1. time series impedance, 2. bioimpedance spectroscopy, 3. 8 electrode EIT, 4. 16 electrode EIT, 5. 32 electrode EIT.
  • Built for safety and ease-of-use
    • DC power removal filters meet IEC60601-1 safety specifications.
    • Compatible with a 3.5 V, 850 mAh battery (not included) for improved portability. On-board circuitry allows charging via the supplied USB cable.
  • Flexible open source software
    • Easy to install software supports time series impedance measurements, bio-impedance spectroscopy, and electrical impedance tomography, between 80 Hz and 80 kHz, with up to 32 electrodes.
    • Supports three different types of real-time tomographic reconstruction: Graz Consensus, Gauss-Newton Method, and Back Projection. You can record for analysis offline or run in real-time.
    • Hardware includes Serial Wire Debug (SWD) programmers for firmware re-programming.
  • Portable design
    • Tiny, portable PCB measures approximately 2” by 2” and comes with a custom plastic enclosure. Sit it on your desk while trying algorithm improvements.
    • Comes with a small, cylindrical tank phantom (140 mm diameter, 60 mm height).
